quickie custom call -- nadia white

Hey, everyone!  A little short notice, but...

Nadia White is visiting NYC next week, and we're talking about setting up a video shoot.

Let me know ASAP if you have a custom request for Nadia (email veve.wrestler@gmail.com).

Nadia's shot with Academy Wrestling and Capital City Catfights before, and she's got an awesome petite, busty, badass Goth look -- good luck that she's visiting just in time for Halloween ;)

Also, this is a quick advanced notice -- we're shooting with Cali Logan on Nov. 18.  Feel free to send custom requests for Cali's visit too!

overwhelmed with awesome video options!

OK, I've been a little unable to blog lately because there's been so much *almost* going on.  And the reason things have been *almost* going on, is that there are so many options it's hard to pick which ones to do and what to do first!

So I decided it's just time to talk about this and how simultaneously awesome and frustrating it is.  I'm gonna lay out all the video options and ideas we're considering, and if anyone wants to help the decision-making process with votes or custom orders, that would be excellent!

The "problem" begins with the fact that Orlandoe is back in NYC for the summer --  limited time, three months only!  Now Orlandoe was always one of our most capable, competitive wrestlers, and she's kept up her training while she's been away.  We had a quick roll together at a recent open mat, and I was super impressed.  A straight-up wrestling rematch between us would be pretty neat for starters.

BUT Orlandoe is also one of the ladies besides me who knows her way around ropes -- we could set her to bondaging her own crop of victims.  AND she's such a fun personality being so tricky and devious -- she's makes a terrific villain or pro-style heel.  See what I mean?  Too many options!

Now, at the same time, Amazon Annie is back from her extended travels and pretty pumped up for action.  And we have a lot of tiny opponents who would be great in size domination matches with her -- Jade Indica, ShaSha, possibly Cali Logan if she wants to come visit, new guy Tae...
Annie vs. ???

And speaking of Tae, he's a new, very small, very quick and scrappy, but totally untrained guy.  So basically ALL the ladies would love to get their hands on him for a big [hazing] wrestling welcome.  He's also friend of Howl, so there are great options for those guys working together in multi-person team matches and scenarios.

We actually gave that idea a first run last week in the What Goes Around Comes Around Bondage Caper video, AND we're scheduled for a Battle of the Sexes Bondage Battle II next week (Howl & Tae vs. Orlandoe & Me), along with and Orlandoe vs. Me Pro-Style Rematch.  So those are some ideas that ARE happening already.  But so many more options, even more than I've mentioned already...

Another thing going on, obviously, is that it's summer!!  This is the time for outdoor scenarios, and a lot of our ladies and guys have agreed they'd love to do some on-site adventure filming.  Of course, Annie would like to do an Amazon vs. the jungle hunters scene in nature reserve she knows.  I think gladiators meeting on the sands would be great, and I'm hearing some requests to bring last year's skin diver character back to the beach as well.  Plus Howl mentioned shooting at the Cloisters, which would give us an amazing Medieval castle setting.

And finally, there are phenomenal guest wrestlers we'll be shooting with in July and August.

Mistress Kara will be here July 17-19, and we're already planning a full-day shoot with her.  Now what do?

Kara is a genius of mixed domination.  It's tempting to match her against every guy we have to overpower, tie-up, and/or enslave them in turn.

But maybe we don't want to miss the chance for her do some more unusual things?  Kara could rock a pro-style match like a champ; she would make an amazing superheroine or villian; and she looks awesome in pantyhose...maybe a catball?  Not to mention the fact that she would be super-exciting in one of our 4-way or 6-way bondage battles!  One match we are certain about is a confirmed competitive custom vs. Amazon Annie.  But for the rest, decisions must be made!

Now, moving on into slightly further down-the-road news.  A little bit more of an FYI, advance-notice set of announcements...but still not too far off, so worth starting to think about!

Megan Jones and Mutiny are also going to be visiting New York later in July.  We're actually scheduled to shoot with both of them in Florida in August, but only Diablo and I are going on that trip.  SO, if anyone has requests for these two awesome ladies to match up with other members of our New York crew. we would be glad to set up a home-turf shoot with them too.  (Or to take requests for videos with Diablo or me for August).

Mutiny

And FINALLY, in August Diablo and I head down to FetCon.  We're set up to shoot so far with:  Layla Moore, Nikki Fierce, Tomiko, Andrea Rosu, Mutiny, Lily Kat, Briella Jaden, and Megan Jones.  Any requests for videos with these ladies, or with other ladies attending FetCon, are very welcome!

sessions, winning, & losing

So a couple days ago I had a pretty great session.  I was even thinking at the time, "This would make a great story," but the guy was pretty shy and a bit nervous as a first-time sessioner, so I stuck to just making a simple tweet about it.  Tweet:  "I'd say 99% of the session guys I meet expect to lose. But there's 1% that REALLY think they can win. Had one of them today. He didn't win. :)"

But I just got a tweet reply asking for a blog about it, and I noticed my original tweet even got discussed over on malevsfemale.org (to a bit of controversy, no less!)  So clearly I must tell the story. Let's see if I can give the good parts but spare the details for the details for the guy's sake.

So the funny thing about this match was that I almost couldn't believe it was happening.  It was SO much like certain mixed video storylines -- you know:  guy sees wrestling girl on the internet; guy thinks "I could beat her;" guy challenges girl; guy is shocked and horrified! when he loses.  I know it's a "realistic" video storyline, but it's not that really realistic because the great majority of guys I meet, no matter how hard they fight, do either want to lose or don't mind and are just impressed when I win.  So few guys really get upset about it that I was like "Wow, it's really happening!"

So this guy Tuesday was no slouch.  He was young, athletic, had wrestled in high school and trained a little BJJ too.  He was close to my size but still had 10 or 15 pounds on me.  So I was expecting this would be a great match.  And it was!  Most session guys I won't let start a match standing, but with a school wrestling background I knew he'd be safe and actually better at takedowns than I am.

So...he shot a single-leg; I partly defended with a sprawl and pulled guard.  He started out full-power, trying to throw my legs aside and dive or bull through them.  I wouldn't put my back on the ground in guard, because despite the mixed experience, we'd never never actually discussed rules, and I wasn't going to give him any excuse to claim a pin!  So I got into a deep half guard, and he tried to Darce choke me.  I had to keep my cool and work out of a lot of tight choke attempts in this match!

I got myself even deeper into half gaurd, right underneath him while stretching his legs apart, and I discovered "Aha!  He doesn't know this position!"  He didn't know what to do or how to balance from there, so I turned him and got on top.  I tried for my favorite boltcutter choke, but he was too explosive -- he twisted, powered out, and bulled right back into me.

We went back and forth, crashed around, made WAAAAAAY too much noise for my little 2nd floor apartment studio, and worked up a disgusting amount of sweat.  He kept blowing out of my sidemount and mount choke attempts, so I realized I was going to need more than my arms to hold on to him.  Finally, I got back into side mount, stepped a leg over his head, and slid on a reverse triangle.  I was afraid it wouldn't hold because of all the sweat, but I squeezed, and he tapped.

Now, here's the best part.  We'd agreed on consequences for the loser -- his idea!  Loser gets facesat.  Now, I am a big fan of my guys who enjoy being facesat.  But I am also a big fan of guys who think they're going to facesit me and end up on the bottom.  It's just precious.  Plus, I mentioned the sweat already, right?  Poor thing.

We went for two more falls.  The mats had gotten way too slick for takedowns to make any sense, so I pulled guard both times.  My deep half guard trick worked again, but this time I scooted out behind him and got on his back.  I sunk in a rear naked choke and got a second tap.  He got a second facesit.

On the last fall, I was feeling a little too cocky, and he locked a tight reverse triangle on me.  I had a moment of thinking "Oh no, not when it was going so well!  I'll have to give," but damn, right! not when it was going so well.  I managed to push his knee out and over my chin, and that was just too discouraging for him.  Having me get out when he was so sure about that hold really took the fight out of him.  I don't even know how, but somehow I just breezed up onto his back and got a second rear naked choke.  He got a third facesit!

OK, so they don't come up that often, but this is definitely not the only session I've had with a guy who was super-determined to win.  I'm going to get a bit general and a wee bit philosophical now.  One thing I think is funny is how many of the guys who do desperately want to win ask me afterwards "Do you ever lose?"  Well, I've had a few draws, but it's been years since I lost in a session.

But do I ever lose?  Of course!  I train with amazing people almost every day at my academy.  The other students (not to mention the instructors!!) are fantastic, and plently of them can beat me.  If I didn't train with such awesome people I wouldn't be as good as I am, and I wouldn't get better.

All the guys who really want to beat me have a reason they think they can -- they're bigger, they're good at some other sport, they used to wrestle.  But they also have a reason they can't -- they don't know how to wrestle, they're big but not in good shape...  So this tells me they're not really as sure  they can beat me in the first place as they say.  Meanwhile, they still ask "Do you ever lose?" when they must know that there are guys out there who are bigger AND skilled AND in good shape...

But the guys I train with who are all of those things and CAN beat me have never shown a really urgent need to prove it.  If anything, they're great and helpful training partners with something to teach me.

So I've been taking stock here, and I'm reaching the conclusion:  If you have to beat me, you probably can't.  And you might even know it.  And that might have something to do with why it's always fun to win, but it's especially fun to win over someone who's gunning for you ;)

where I've been...

Well, it's lucky no one strictly enforces New Year's resolutions, or I'd be in trouble -- I've been neglecting this blog again!  But I'm back now.  Here's a quick recap of what was going on in the quiet time, before I move on to some very exciting stuff that's coming up incredibly soon!

So my last post was in February; I was talking about the killer, 2-hour marathon match that I had with Kevin.  Looking back on February now, it's not surprising at all that I disappeared in March.  I've got to admit those months were hard (but worth it in the long run).

February was absolutely turbo-charged (and for that, I actually blame January, when the weather was so miserable that a we had to postpone a lot of shoots due to models' travel problems).

So we did everything in February!  We shot 24 videos that month, and besides the marathon with Kevin, this also included the Battle of the Sexes bondage match, an awesome but exhausting late-night, hour-long, hard competitive war.  There were some other great creations, like my Handcuffed Smother Domination with Thrash, and the excellent bondage match I got to have with Robin.  All stuff I'm proud of, but add on all my regular training and lifting AND general winter factor, and I was getting pretty tired by March.

BUT we had a big two-day long shoot scheduled with Lia Labowe before there could be a rest.  I knew it was coming to a point because I was losing my voice during the shoot with Lia -- which might have produced an interesting effect???  We did some private commission assassin videos where I had to deliver evil monologues and sounded especially husky.  Always a silver lining to be found somewhere.

Anyway, I went into "hardcore resting" mode after the shoot with Lia in order to be ready for my Northern Tour.  Thank goodness this all worked out -- the tour was lovely with some great wrestling in Montreal, Toronto, Detroit, and Chicago; I met some wonderful (and tough!) new folks, got to see some of my very favorite regular sessions guys again (I hope you guys know who you are -- you're fantastic!), and got to meet and film with Ashley Wildcat for the first time.  Rounded the trip off with a stop at my parents' for Easter -- a very nice time overall!

Now throughout April, I *thought* I'd been continuing the resting-up theme from March.  But I just counted up the videos from April, and there were actually 25 -- one more than in crazy February!  I think the difference is not having to travel through any snow to get to the studio, and also the fact that we've been working on some very fun, experimental type projects.  There was the 4-Way Superheroine Bondage Battle -- how could anyone not love that and love doing that?  I know for myself, wanting to be in superhero movies as a kid is a big part of why I'm so pleased with what I do now.  And I've yet to meet another wrestling lady that doesn't think the superheroine videos are extra fun.

There was also the Hunt for the Spider Queen video; this was something of a pet project that Diablo, Howl, and I had been dreaming up.  We knew we wanted it to be a bit more like a movie than a clip, and we wanted it to involve a lot of different bondage for Howl.  We were quite committed -- we even ran a dress rehearsal/test run of the video, which was a great benefit.  We tried the concept first as a sort of slow, seductive piece, but afterwards we realized that it would be much better as a more fighty and abusive scene.  This was a great and fun theater experiment type-project that turned out a result I just loved.  I wish we had time to workshop more pieces like this.  Well, for special occasions we just might...  And in any event, the Spider Queen will certainly be making some reappearances!

All right, that brings me up to date.  Good that I had that rest-up time because in two days I leave for my West Coast tour, which is going to be another whirlwind.  See my next post for a preview on that, and a roster of the ladies I'll be shooting with out there should you want to order a custom...

most epic bondage wrestling I've ever had...and probably ever will!

Oh, my fucking god.  Well, whatever else I might have written about this week just got blown out of my mind by the insane bondage wrestling match I just had with Kevin.  I'm recovering/refueling right now with a ton of sushi and some nice red wine, and it's fresh in my mind.  So that's it; that's what this post will be:  a report on that match.

I can't do a play-by-play because there's actually TOO much for me to remember (by "fresh" I may have meant kind of a blur).  Diablo actually had to pause us in the middle of the match to change the camera battery -- that's how long this marathon went on!  It also meant that at the end, we weren't totally sure how long we'd gone -- we guessed 90 minutes.  But Diablo just put the two parts into the editing program, and told me it came to almost two hours!

So no play-by-play.  Here are an overview and my general impressions.

I had fought Kevin before early last fall, so I knew he was going to be tough.  He's a solid wrestler and grappler (with training in both styles) and solid in terms of size too -- he was 180 last fall.  I didn't think it would matter much, but I was pleased going into this match that I'd bulked up 10 pounds since last time.  The sneaky bastard had too!  He was 190 today.  Plus, I knew that Kevin was the sort who really wanted to win and wouldn't give up for practically anything.

When we fought last fall (a combo of facesit pins style and submission style), it took me about 30 minutes to get a submission on him.  I knew this would be harder.   I maintain that a basic quality of bondage wrestling is that it's harder than submission wrestling -- you can get a submission from countless different positions; when it's on right, it only has to last a split second; and when it's over, it's over.  When you get a good tying position on someone, it has to be somewhere that hides the knot from their hands and teeth; I have to hold it long enough to get the knot tied; and once it's done, it has to keep holding while they struggle and I work to tie other limbs.  A huge advantage of mine is that most other people aren't experienced with how to finish a tie in competitive real time, but huge advantages of my opponents (especially big strong ones) are that they don't need to finish a tie to make a few wraps of the rope into an annoying handicap and that they can be extremely frustrating by  just focusing on removing ties.

So we jumped in.  Right away I was reminded of my tangle with Danger Dude in the Battle of the Sexes 4-Way Bondage Wrestling.  Smaller or less skilled opponents aren't much trouble for me to sweep over and then attack from on top, but bigger, experienced guys can make me fight from the bottom.  It's a fine position for BJJ, but, honestly, I don't usually have to deal with that in bondage wrestling.  I experimented for a while to see if I could rope Kevin from the bottom of guard, but he kept pulling his arms up and out (and all the while attempting to wrap my arms as well).  This went on long enough to become aggravating and tiring.  I realized this was too much like the match with Danger Dude -- it wasn't a particular opponent thing but a general thing -- bottom of guard is a crummy place to secure ties.

I realized I had two options -- eliminate distractions, throw the ropes away for a while, and rely on pure grappling technique to the get a sweep; or rope a leg instead of an arm and use the attachment to force the sweep.  Either way I needed a big effort to get on top.  Well, I went for my big effort -- a few times, in a few different ways, I think -- and at one point we broke apart...I dove for his ankle...he sprawled on top of me to defend...I caught myself with my hand turned just a little funny...and I sprained my thumb.

Oh, no!!  That was about the worst thing that could have happened.  Thumbs are pretty damn important for tying ropes.  They're also important for all kinds of grabbing, catching, propping, and pushing in grappling.  What had already been a hard match just became colossally challenging.  But neither Kevin nor I was about to give up.

I admit things became a bit of a mess and kind of emotional after that.  With my thumb hurting and also frustrating the hell out of me when it wouldn't work as well as I wanted, and with the match getting longer and longer and more exhausting, AND with my needing to call up some pretty big bursts of strength to move Kevin around, AAAANND with him torturing me by escaping several times from ties that were SO close, I went into drama mode.  I did a lot of yelling, sometimes from exertion and sometimes from frustration.

Kevin, obnoxiously, thought this was funny instead of terrifying.  He was clever enough to steal some rest at various times when I was working to tie him, and explode out when he'd caught his breath and I was just about to get somewhere with the knots.  He kept threatening me too, and at one point when I was just too tired to do much about it, he almost had me...but the ropework was too messy to hold once I caught my breath.  Two can play at that game, Kevin!

I'm not going to give away the ending here, but what I will say is that that was one of the hardest, and definitely the longest, match of my life.  And two hours in there was a final tie.  What finally made the difference was a pull-out-the-stops, tight-as-hell chicken-wing tie.  But how it happened, and to whom, and what happened next is a secret!  ...until the video comes out.

UPDATE March 5:  The video is now released!  Find it HERE.

Plus, Promo Pics!

camera never stops rolling!

Damn, getting a little behind on the blogging again.  Well, I've noticed that that either happens when there's nothing going on (nothing to write about) or too much going on (no time to write about it).  And nothing going on has NOT been the problem lately!

This past week was full of a series of very interesting shoots.  This started out with my Valentine's Day bondage wrestling match with Howl.  Honestly, I can hardly believe this was just a week ago now, there's been such excitement in between!  But anyway, we had had a big 3-couples (6 people) bondage wrestling EVENT planned for V-Day, but due to a combination of bad weather and some very poorly timed romantic trouble, Howl and I were the only two able to show up of the original six.  So poor Howl had to bear all the punishment I'd been planning for five people ;)

Honestly, I was super-impressed with how well Howl did in this match...at the start.  So many of my bondage opponents put all their energy into defending against me, when really "a strong offense is the best defense" is especially true in bondage wrestling.  So he did a great job of attacking early and almost got my feet tied together, but he didn't quite have the edge to capitalize on that, and I paid him him back with some extra-tight binding and ball-gagging later.  But, truly, Howl is one of our local wrestlers taking the most interest in improving his game right now -- he puts up a great fight against any odds, and he came out to our Tuesday night training session on last week.  Not that I'm going to let him be a threat to me, but I'm getting worried for some of our local ladies seeing how motivated he is!

------------------------------

OK, skipping ahead to Wednesday, which was the uber-shoot day of the week.  Actually, it involved two very cool, but very different shoots.  Everything started out nice and civilized -- Diablo and I paid a call on Robin at her Manhattan hotel to film a tickling custom video and a bondage wrestling match.  This was the sort of shoot where everything goes smoothly and perfectly (they do happen!).

Robin is awesome to work with and super on-the-ball.  When we did our bondage wrestling, even though she was certain to lose, she put up a great, very feisty struggle and even had fun losing.  I got her legs frog-tied and her elbows cinched behind her back and she almost cracked me up trying to box and kick at me all hobbled like that!  And she was a great sport as I experimented with some hair-tying.  I get a little carried away...

------------------------------

After that, Diablo and I headed out to New Jersey to a studio we'd never been to before and with snow starting to fall, to meet up with Keri, Danger Dude, and Frankie for a Battle of the Sexes 2-on-2 Competitive Bondage Wrestling Experiment.  I think of this shoot as a "Wild West" moment in wrestling.  Everyone was excited to give the match a shot, and both the ladies' team and the guys' team were feeling really confident about scoring the win, but we had just simply never tried this style of match before.  And some of the competitors had never fought each other or even really met before that night.  There was no time limit or no pre-determined outcome.  There was a lot of ego, and there were some expectations, but no body knew what would really happen...

What happened was that it turned into a hard, long match.  While it was happening I think we all gave up hope that it could ever end with one side actually managing to win (I know I did).  When the win finally happened, we were all a little too exhausted to realize quite how it had happened.  Afterwards, Diablo (who was filming) said he was scared for us several times watching all the crashing and colliding and that he hadn't thought it would be that intense.  Keri had expected the intensity, but I think not the duration.  And I had made the mistake of underestimating Frankie -- he can get himself into trouble on his own, but he worked well in a team with Danger Dude.  I think we all felt kind of shell-shocked but accomplished afterwards.  AND after all that, Diablo and I had to make a freezing, late-night trip back to New York on some never-coming trains...suffer for art, oh yes!!  The day after was a total loss, I'm telling you.

------------------------------

OK, then after a day of rest, on Friday I rounded out the week with one more video with Howl.  This one was a Boston crab domination video -- not quite the adventure of the Wednesday shoot, but notable because a) I thought it went very well and turned out quite cool, b) Howl is super-flexible and great for Boston crabbing, and c) I finally got to wear a really nice costume I'd been looking for a reason to use.  (A fan bought me this great, shiny gymnastics leotard for a video back in December but then decided he preferred one with long sleeves.  I've been waiting and waiting to use the sleeveless version!)

------------------------------

That brings me up to the present, but there is plenty more to come very, very soon.  Tomorrow, Hanz and I are filming with Shauna Ryanne -- there's some bondage, superheroine, tickling, and competitive action planned.  And at the risk of turning this into a really marathon shoot, this is also the last call for custom requests for Shauna!

------------------------------

Also hoping to meet up with Indra, who's had a killer busy February, for some long-awaited filming in the first week of March.

------------------------------

And finally, I've gotten word that Lia Labowe will be visiting again March 5-8.  We're in the process of planning another shoot, so custom requests for Lia are welcome too!
